What is the difference between blue and black disposable masks

There is no difference between blue and black disposable masks produced by regular manufacturers except for the difference in color. According to China's "Disposable Medical Masks" reference standard: YT0969-2013, its medical disposable nursing masks are mainly blue, and there are also white, black, pink and pattern printing models. The shapes are flat and arched. As long as the masks are produced in compliance with the regulations, they have the functions of anti-virus, anti-odor, filter bacteria, and dust prevention. Apart from the difference in color, there is no difference in appearance or purpose.

Which better is black mask or blue mask

1. From the perspective of replacement experience, as long as the mask is dirty, it needs to be replaced immediately, otherwise it will lose its protective effect. However, because of the darker color of the black mask, even after wearing it for a long time, you can’t see the contaminants on the surface of the mask. I don’t know if it is dirty. Dirty, while blue masks can clearly see whether there are contaminants. From the perspective of replacement experience, blue masks are better than black masks.

 2. From the perspective of protective effect, generally disposable black masks and blue masks are three-layered, but there is a gray-black mask that adds a layer of activated carbon paper on the premise of the original three-layer non-woven filter paper, which is better. It improves the ability to filter dust and bacteria and is called "four-layer activated carbon mask". Its protective effect is due to the ordinary three-layer blue mask. But there are also black masks made of cotton or sponge. This kind of mask only has the functions of dustproof and beautiful appearance, and does not have the ability to prevent viruses. The protective effect is not as good as the blue medical mask.

Are black masks a medical mask?

Not necessarily. Whether a mask is a medical mask or not can not be judged by color alone, but also according to the following points:

  1. Look at the number of layers: medical masks are generally three-layered, and the inner layer is made of skin-friendly material (normal sanitary gauze or non-woven fabric) , The middle layer is the isolation filter layer (ultra-fine polypropylene fiber melt-blown material layer), the outer layer is a special antibacterial layer (non-woven fabric or ultra-thin polypropylene melt-blown material layer), and the ones with fewer layers are not medical masks .

  2. Look at the process: The main production processes of medical masks include meltblown, spunbond, hot air or needle punch, etc., which are equivalent to resisting liquids, filtering particles and bacteria. They are medical protective textiles that can be identified according to the outer packaging.

  3. Look at the protective effect. Under the condition of air flow rate (85±2) L/min, the filtration efficiency of the medical mask on the median aerodynamic diameter (0.24±0.06) μm sodium chloride aerosol is not less than 95%, which is in line with N95 (or FFP2) and above. It can block airborne infectious agents with a diameter of <5μm or close contact with infectious agents transmitted by droplets. Disposable masks do not. This is also marked on the outer packaging of the mask.

Can disposable masks isolate the virus?

Not all disposable masks can isolate the virus. Disposable masks that can effectively isolate the virus are: disposable surgical masks and n95 masks, while ordinary disposable masks are less effective in isolating the virus, and ordinary cotton masks have no effect in isolating the virus. Therefore, if you buy a mask to isolate the virus, Use disposable surgical masks or n95 masks, and remember to replace them regularly. Normally, you need to replace them every 4 hours.

How to distinguish true and false masks

The authenticity of disposable masks can be identified according to the following points:

 1. Wearing experience

Wear a mask to see if it is stinging your ears, the tip of your nose and your face. If you sting your ears or itching, it is a defective product or a fake or shoddy product.

 2. See if there is fluff

You can hold the mask in your hand and stick the inside of the mask on the face with the side facing out. Find a sunny place with an angle of 180. Look carefully at the sun to see if the non-woven fabric on the face has a lot of fluff . If there is a lot of fluff and dullness, this kind of mask is made of garbage or unhygienic non-woven fabric, which is a substandard product. It also depends on whether the side of the mask attached to the face is shiny, whether there are broken hairs, stains, yellowish, or color casts, which are all defective products.

 3. Smell

Under normal circumstances, the materials used to make masks are disinfected and will not have any peculiar smell. If there is a peculiar smell from the fabric surface to the ear strap, it is a substandard product.

 4. Touch it

Disposable masks generally have three layers. The inner and outer layers are non-woven fabrics. The material is required to be soft and smooth. You can feel the whole mask by your hands to see if it is soft, smooth and not rough. If the fabric is hard, the light transmittance is too thin and rough. Belongs to inferior product.

 5. Weigh the weight

Generally speaking, a three-layer non-woven disposable mask weighs between 65-70 grams. If it is overweight or ultralight, it may be a substandard product.
